How to avoid toxic chemicals when you’re pregnant

Today’s babies are born with hundreds of toxic chemicals in their blood linked to hormonal problems, infertility, behavioural issues, cancer and worse. Don’t freak out and hide under the pillows! Educate yourself (and others) on the worst offenders then take action to protect your bub – and yourself, of course.

The wonderful US not-for-profit Healthy Child Healthy World had produced this great infographic to help expecting and breastfeeding mums make informed decisions about their personal care products. Stick it on your fridge, save it to your phone and share, share share!

If you’ve got any questions about specific brands or ingredients, ask away…

Thanks Cybele, our skin takes a battering during pregnancy, that’s for sure! If tiny amounts of hormone can cause such changes in our bodies, it makes sense that small amounts of chemicals can too, right?

This is a topic close to my heart. I have been doing a lot of research into nail polish of late and can’t believe how little people know about the toxins in the stuff! I am planning to write about it, too. Thanks for sharing this – it’s easy to read, easy to share and important info.

I know! It’s revolting. The fact it turns my toenails yellow should have been a tip-off years ago! I Look forward to seeing the post x

For sure, Bec! Breastfeeding was what kicked off my quest to find a more natural shampoo and conditioner as I saw my skin as the feeding trough!!
